Safety is very important within industry and infrastructure. People and the environment around industrial or infrastructural facilities need to be protected, as required by government law. The government has made certain laws and regulations for this purpose in the form of standards that must be met. Certain standards apply to the physical installations, but certain standards also apply to the systems that control them. Since there are very often safety concerns within new construction or modification projects in industry or infrastructure, this means that expertise in this area is often required within the systems DWG provides. So naturally DWG has all the expertise in-house. In industry, when it comes to systems, people often talk about functional safety, because this expertise is about functioning of the system in relation to safety.
